Parrots on the telephone

Over the last few months, unfortunately, I have been away from my two Amazons (Amazona aestiva xanthopteryx) and have only interacted with them over the telephone. It has been amazing to 'hear' the progress they've made in understanding that it's me on the little piece of molded plastic. At first, they were afraid of the strange device that had a tinny version of my voice, but now they'll readily, and eagerly, run to the phone to make contact calls and ask to sing songs.

Does anyone else have experience with a 'talker' of their own?
